PAST DREAMS
I wanted to capture the surreal and unsettling nature of my dreams during the recovery. of my 3 broken ankle bones. I used dark, shadowy tones combined with layered imagery to create an atmosphere of mystery and unease. The fragmented and overlapping elements reflect the disorienting experience of being confined and unable to move freely. The image of myself walking through different, undefined spaces symbolizes the search for freedom and a sense of grounding. The stained glass windows and garden elements juxtaposed with darker, shadowy figures suggest a contrast between my hope of recovery and the fear of confinement. I used strong contrasts in the photos to convey the emotional turmoil I experienced. My goal was to use the composition's complexity and the interplay of light and dark areas to draw viewers into the narrative, inviting them to explore the layers of meaning and emotion. I strove to create a compelling representation of my inner journey, capturing the essence of vulnerability, fear, and the longing for liberation..
